HHSC Rules and Regulations
1. The Pool manager and his staff have been assigned the responsibility for maintaining the proper environment at all times.
2. Each member family will be issued a coupon book for the admittance of twenty (20) guests per season. Guests must at all times be in the company of a club member, age 14 or older. A 30 day consecutive pass may be issued to a "House Guest". A "House Guest" is defined as a person inhabiting a member's house at least 75% of the period in which the pass will be issued. The pass will be issued on an individual basis only and is not transferable. Contact the pool manager or any member of the Membership Committee for the fee.
3. Membership cards will be issued to all members and immediate household, as indicated in the by-lays. MEMBERSHIP CARDS WILL SHOW AGE UP TO AND INCLUDING 18 YEARS OF AGE, and must be turned in at the gate upon entry and reclaimed when departing. Lost cards will be replaced for a fee.
4. At times during the morning hours, a section of the pool may be closed off for instructional purposes. Members are expected to avoid the area involved during these times, unless a class participant.
5. Pool facilities will be closed to non-competitors during swim meets.
6. Running, pushing, horse play, abusive language, or any misconduct in general is to be avoided. Violations may result in suspension of pool priveleges. The degree of suspension, depending on the severity of said violation, will be up to the discretion of the pool manager. In the event that severe punishment is necessary, the matter will be decided by the trustees. The pool manager will keep a log book relative to the suspensions. This will include name, violation, amount of days suspended, and the date of occupancy. This log book is for the manager's records and is to be used by the Swim Club Trustees only.
7. Instructional classes, ranging from beginner through life guard training will be held. This group instruction is without charge. Private lessons are available for anyone so desiring. Arrangements must be made through the pool manager.
8. Should an emergency occur, A CONTINUOUS BLAST OF THE WHISTLE WILL SOUND: ALL SWIMMERS WILL IMMEDIATELY LEAVE THE WATER AND CLEAR THE AREA OF THE POOL.
9. During a thunderstorm, all swimmers will leave the pool until instructed to return.
10. No Smoking is permitted on the swim club grounds.
11. Glass containers are NOT permitted on the grounds.
12. If, in the opinion of the pool manager, a bather does not appear to be in good physical condition, he may be temporarily excluded from using the pool. (Open wounds, rashes, colds, bandages, and coughing are examples.) An exception may be made with a Dr's certificate.
13. Washroom facilities are provided for use by all. Parents are requested to emphasize this fact to their children. No loitering will be permitted in the washroom.
14. Spitting or cleansing of the nose while using the pool is to be avoided as much as possible.
15. Pets are not permitted within the fence enclosure.
16. When, in the opinion of the pool manager or his representative, rest periods are indicated, younger swimmers will be required to spend reasonable periods out of the water in order to avoid over-fatigue.
17. Floating objects such as rafts and plastic water toys, will not be used in the pool. Underwater masks and snorkels may only be used with the permission of management.
18. The wading pool is reserved exclusively for the use of small children age 6 and under. ONLY PLASTIC OR RUBBER TOYS WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE WADING POOL. Children must be supervised when using the wading pool.
19. Infants and toddlers not toilet trained are not allowed in the large pool at any time. They must use the wading pool and be diapered while swimming.
20. Extreme care must be taken in the diving area to permit proper intervals between divers. Members are reminded that all swimming and diving is done at their own risk. Divers should not delay on the board during peak hours.
21. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a member 14 years or older when using the pool facilities. The member must assume full responsibility for the child. Exceptions may be granted when the child is a member of an instructional class.
22. You must be at least 14 years of age to sign in a guest. This requires parental permission by phone, in addition to a signed permission slip.
23. It is the responsibility of the pool staff to devote their time to all of those present and they can not be expected to assume the role of "baby sitter" while on duty.
24. EATING AND DRINKING OF ANY KIND IS PROHIBITED ON THE SWIM CLUB GROUNDS EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED PICNIC AREAS. This includes candy, chewing gum, coffee, ice drinks, thermos, etc. IT IS THE MEMBER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP THE PICNIC AREA CLEAN. Please cooperate. Swimming directly after eating is an unsafe practice. Please allow a half hour of rest before re-entering the water.
25. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the grounds (including the parking area) at any time. Violators will be subject to expulsion from the club.
26. First Aid facilities are available in the First Aid Station. Any injury, REGARDLESS of how slight, must be reported to the staff member in charge.
27. Members will be charged for damages that result from the actions of their guests or themselves.
28. Footwear worn outside the enclosure is not to be worn on the paced area directly adjacent to the pool. Shoes or sneakers must be worn in the recreation area.
29. Athletic equipment supplied will be the responsibility of the member. At the time of issue, the member's name and number will be recorded and the equipment must be returned prior to the members departure from the pool area.
30. No general paging of members will be made. Use of the P.A. system will be restricted to general announcements and emergencies.
31. NO PARKING OR STANDING is permitted at any time in the semi-circular area adjacent to as well as in the entrance area. IN THE ENTRANCE AREA, BOTH SIDES OF THE PLANTER MUST BE KEPT CLEAR. There will be no storage of chairs, playpens, etc. This is required in order to keep this area clear in the event of an emergency.
32. Shorts, gym trunks, cut-offs (hemmed and un-hemmed) will not be permitted while bathing in the pool.
33. The office is for pool management only. Please keep this area clear.
34. No soliciting will be permitted on the swim club grounds without express consent of the board of trustees.
35. When it becomes necessary to close the pool for maintenance, continuous rain, extreme cold, high winds, etc., a member will not be charged for any guest who has not utilized the facilities of the pool for a minimum of three hours after his/her arrival.
